NMBS / SNCB series AM 62-79

The series AM 62-79 / AM 54 / AM 56 (French) or MS 62-79 / MS 54 / MS 56 ( Dutch ) (also known as Tweetjes ) of the Belgian State Railways (NMBS / SNCB) is a series of 130 or (from series AM 66) 140 km / h fast two-part electric traction vehicle units.
It is mainly used in inner-Belgian local and regional transport ( L and P trains ) of the NMBS / SNCB, but also reaches Aachen in Germany on a cross-border regional train line ( euregioAIXpress ).
The gradual decommissioning of the rode klassiekjes (red classics) AM 62 has been running since 2012 , due to the new Desiro ML that has been added to the inventory .
inside rooms
Due to the doors attached to the front, these railcars can also be coupled to form longer formations - also with railcars of the NMBS / SNCB series AM 75 . As a result of this special feature - as in the original version of the DB- n car - the driver's cab is housed in a so-called rabbit box.
In most cases, the interior has a seat design with synthetic leather covers in 2nd class and fabric covers in 1st class. From the MS 66 / AM 66 series, the vehicles were modernized inside and out, they were given a white-gray-yellow paint.
