NRW certificate

The NRW Certificate Professional Teaching Competence for the University ( NRW Certificate for short ) is a further education program offered by the University Network of North Rhine- Westphalia . This network currently includes 16 universities and colleges from North Rhine-Westphalia .

The program consists of three modules totaling 200–240 hours of work. a. consist of attending workshops on university didactic topics, teaching internships or coaching and carrying out a teaching-learning project (e.g. developing a new course ). A certificate is issued upon completion of the program.

The aim of the program is the (further) qualification of teachers with regard to university didactic skills.

The university network advertises that the acquisition of the certificate supports the proof of pedagogical aptitude, which is mentioned in the Higher Education Act NRW as a prerequisite for university lecturers.
