Nabihah Iqbal

Nabihah Iqbal (* In London , England ) is a British musician .

Nabihah grew up in London as the child of Pakistani parents in the late 1980s. There she also completed a degree in history and ethnomusicology at the School of Oriental and African Studies before moving to Cambridge to specialize in the history of South Africa in the master’s course .

Before she went to South Africa for a legal internship, she completed an additional degree in London. In addition to her legal work in the field of human rights, she also began very actively to make music and first recordings, which were released in 2013 as "Mystic Places" EP on the Ominira label by Kassem Mosse .

On her debut album "Weighing of the Heart" all of the instrumental and vocal recordings were made by herself; since this album she also no longer uses the pseudonym "Throwing Shade" but her real name. In addition to her work as a musician, she also appears as a radio presenter.
