After the ball (original title: Après le bal , English title After the Ball ) is a silent short film by the French film pioneer Georges Méliès from 1897 .

The film shows a servant helping a woman with bathing . First she helps her undress, then bathes her and finally dries her off.

After the ball , alongside Le Coucher de la Mariée from 1896, is one of the first films with a nude scene . The actress, Méliès ' future wife Jeanne d'Alcy , is not really naked, but wears an elastic, flesh-colored bodysuit . The “water” with which it is washed is a kind of dark sand.
