Nadia Zachary

Nadia Eskandar Zachary ( Arabic نادية زخاري) has been the Egyptian Minister for Scientific Research since December 7, 2011 . She had been an independent member of Prime Minister Hescham Kandil's Kandil cabinet since August 2, 2012 ; previously she was in the Ganzuri Second Cabinet under Kamal Ganzuri .

Zachary was the only member of the Coptic Christian faith in the 35-strong cabinet, although about ten percent of Egyptians belong to the faith. Besides Nagwa Chalel , she was also the only female cabinet member.

Nadia Zachary received a Ph.D. in Medical Biochemistry from the University of Cairo .
