Devastation is an American thrash metal band from Corpus Christi , Texas that formed in 1986, split in 1991, and reunited in 2008.
history
The band was formed in 1986. In the same year the band released their first demo, Destined to Death . As a result, the band reached a contract with Zombo Records and released their debut album Violent Termination on this label in 1987. In 1988, the second demo Contaminated followed . In the same year the band also made appearances, including with Dark Angel . The second album Signs of Life was released in 1988 by Under One Flag . In 1989 further appearances followed with groups such as Lääz Rockit , Dead Brain Cells and Sepultura . In 1990 the group played among others with Death . In 1991 the last album Idolatry followed . The album was recorded by Scott Burns in the Morrisound studio . After various appearances in the summer together with bands like Malevolent Creation and Demolition Hammer , the band broke up after Combat Records had canceled the contract with the band. In 2008 the band got together again.

The band plays aggressive Thrash Metal that can be compared to the work of bands like Sepultura , Slayer and Dark Angel .
