Nail bed sample

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Under the nail bed sample is understood within the medical and especially in rescue services range exerting a light pressure on the nail bed of the patient.

In a healthy state, the capillaries in the fingertips immediately fill up with blood again. However, if this does not happen or is delayed, it suggests that the patient's extremities are not being adequately supplied with blood. A possible cause for this can be a shock , for example caused by a significant loss of blood. The nail bed sample is very suitable in the emergency service to detect such a shock, at least halfway early.
