Nam-gu ( Korean 남구 ) is one of the eight districts of Daegu . It is a central district of the city. Literally translated, the name means southern district . The district borders the Jung-gu , Suseong-gu , Dalseong-gun and Dalseo-gu districts in a clockwise direction .

The district mayor is Cho Chae-gu (조재구). He is a member of the Mirae-tonghap party .
