Namibia Media Holdings (NMH; Democratic Media Holdings (DMH) until mid-April 2014 ) is a publishing group based in Windhoek , Namibia .
history
NMH emerged in 1991 from a merger of John Meinert (Pty) Ltd and the magazine Die Republikein . The merger was initiated by Dirk Mudge , who in earlier times was firmly connected to the Democratic Gym Alliance .
In addition, the NMH received financial support from the Democratic Gym Alliance in its early years, which led to a large number of property disputes between the two parties, culminating in 1997 in the official termination of the media company's ties to the Democratic Gym Alliance.
At the beginning of July 2012, the 50% stake held by the DMH Foundation Democratic Media Trust was sold to Stimulus , a Namibian investment company. The South African media company Media24 , part of the internationally active media conglomerate Naspers , held a 50 percent stake in NMH. However, this was also assigned to Stimulus in April 2016.
