The Namibian Sun (also Daily Sun ) is a daily newspaper published in Windhoek . It is the only tabloid in the country and, like Allgemeine Zeitung and Die Republikein, is published by Namibia Media Holdings . Between October 15, 2010 and March 26, 2011, it was the only daily newspaper in the country that also appeared on Saturdays.

Until October 15, 2010, the newspaper appeared as a weekly newspaper only on Thursdays. Since then it has appeared limited to current topics from Monday to Friday, the main edition appeared on Saturday. The main edition (Namibian Sun) and daily editions (Daily Sun) differed in their layout and structure. With the appointment of the new editor-in-chief Jan Poolman , the publication frequency was limited to March 26, 2011 to Monday through Friday; the Saturday edition is omitted and its content is included in the Friday edition.

Target group and circulation

With a circulation of 36,000 copies, it is one of the most widespread newspapers in the country. The target group are younger readers between 18 and 40 years of age who are primarily interested in tabloid topics. The front page, which is almost entirely covered with colorful photos, is striking.
