The Nanjing Vehicle Co., Ltd. (in Chinese spelling: 南京 依维柯 汽车 有限公司 ), in short NAVECO or also called Nanjing Iveco from the exact translation of the company name, is a joint venture between the Nanjing Automobile Group and Iveco that has existed since March 1, 1996 .

Two plants are operated under the same name, which are divided into a total of three subsidiaries and ten departments. Both investors have a 50 percent stake in the Nanjing- based joint venture. A total investment of 3.7 billion yuan was raised to build the two plants . Around 3,000 employees work on the company premises, which covers an area of 5.16 km², of which 2.02 km² is covered.

Every year 60,000 civil vehicles, 2,000 military vehicles and 75,000 diesel engines of the Iveco brand are manufactured here, which comply with the Euro II or Euro III emission standards according to customer requirements .

The first model that rolled off the production line here was the Iveco Daily in 1997 , which was renamed the Iveco Turbo Daily in 2004 when the structurally identical but visually revised Iveco Power Daily was introduced. Since the takeover of a production line from Italy, commercial model versions have also been produced. Although these are simply called Commercial Vehicle in the additional designation of the Turbo Daily series , they are already called Iveco Euro Truck in the revised model . Some model versions are also known under the market name Iveco Ouba . The six to eight meter long Iveco Traveler , which can accommodate up to 30 passengers , has been built on the same platform since 2006 .

In addition to civil vehicles, vehicles for military service are also manufactured in Nanjing. The Iveco 2046 has mainly been built here since the factory opened . This is also based on the same platform as the other models. The military version of the Turbo Daily is offered in China as the Iveco 2045 . In addition to the Chinese military, these two vehicle models are used by the United Nations and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization .

With the Chinese police, however, the Daily model versions are also very popular as police vehicles . The Daily is also available as an ambulance , which is mainly used by the Chinese Ministry of Health. These should already have 2,300 units of the Daily models in use. Special model variants of the Power Daily are offered by the factory for companies in the mining and oil field industries. This is also available as an extended bus, a panel van with laboratory equipment and a bus with a pick-up loading area. Other model variants are reserved for the Chinese authorities. These are available as mobile test laboratories for food control or with special structures for other purposes. For a few years now, the Power Daily has been available with an optional high-roof construction. In addition to fire engines , this is also used for special vehicles.
