Napoleon Washington
Raphaël Bettex, alias Napoleon Washington , (* 1972 in Le Locle ; † April 14, 2015 in Lausanne ) was a Swiss musician and songwriter .
Life
Raphaël Bettex was a guitarist and singer and was considered an outstanding voice of the Swiss blues . His influences include Dr. John , Robert Johnson , Son House , Mississippi John Hurt and Fred McDowell . He played as part of the band Crawlin'Kingsnake Blues Band and later the band The Five Blind Boys from The Parish together with Raphael Pedroli (drums) and Simon Gerber (bass, vocals). At the same time, he began a solo career in 2003. In 2007 he performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival . His main work is the album Mud & Grace (2009).
