Napp Pharmaceuticals is a pharmaceutical company headquartered in Cambridge . Napp Pharmaceuticals was founded in 1923 and is a sister company of the US company Purdue Pharma and the German company Mundipharma . The former owners of Purdue Pharma, Mortimer and Raymond Sackler , took over Napp in 1966 to strengthen their European sales channels. The company's direct parent company, Napp Pharmaceutical Holdings Limited, also owns Bard Pharmaceuticals Limited, another pharmaceutical company specializing in drug manufacturing. Although Napp's operating area is limited to the United Kingdom, it has offices in 48 countries across the corporate network together with Purdue and Mundipharma.

The products sold by Napps include the analgesic OxyContin. The active ingredient oxycodone it contains has been linked to the opioid epidemic in the United States of America . In the United States, the compound is distributed by Purdue Pharma, a company also run by the Sackler family. In June 2018, seven members of the Sackler family resigned from the Napp Group's board of directors .
