The fool's mat

As Fool's Mate (also idiots Matt called) is called in chess jokingly shortest possible match that to Matt leads. This is achieved, for example, by the following moves:

1. f2 – f3 e7 – e6
2. g2 – g4 Qd8 – h4 #

There are eight move orders that lead to this checkmate: White f- pawn and black e-pawn can move one or two squares each, and f and g-pawn can switch the order of moves.

In this fastest mate, Black is mate, even though White has the advantage of moving first . The reason is that on this mate the loser has to make two bad moves. If White wants to checkmate like that, he has to make an unnecessary move. Because white helps to enable the opponent to mate as quickly as possible, the fool's mate is equivalent to an auxiliary mate .
