Narte

The Narte (also "Narta" ) refers to a simple reindeer or dog sled of the northern Russian and Siberian peoples. It is a simple (load) sledge with two wooden runners that are connected to one another via a wooden frame. The term is traced back to the language of the northern Russian Komi people and has also found its way into other languages ​​via Russian. In Yiddish, for example, the sledge is called “Narte” and in Polish “Narta” is the ski .
