Nash is a village and an unorganized community in Ellis County , Texas in the United States . Postally, Nash belongs to the city of Waxahachie .

Nash is 14 kilometers south of Waxahachie on Farm-to-Market-Road 55 . Surrounding towns and villages are Waxahachie in the north, Howard in the northeast, Bardwell in the east, Avalon in the south, Italy in the southwest and Forreston in the west. Little Onion Creek lies between Nash and Howard .
history
In 1873/75 Alexander Williams built a school for the children of the farmers in the area in what is now the village on a community-free area. The Nash settlement was founded in the fall of 1882 when Benjamin Reid opened a haberdashery store there. The place was named after NJ Nash, a local lawyer. A year after its founding, Nash received a post office that was in operation until June 30, 1903. At times there was an Egrenier machine and a church in the village . In 1913 the original school building burned down and was rebuilt. In 1938, the Nash School closed and the school district became part of the Waxahachie Independent School District.
In 1941 there were about 75 inhabitants in Nash, in 1968 there were around 125 inhabitants. Since then, the population has decreased to around 25 in 2000, although the population is not officially recorded.
