Natalja Sokol ( Russian Наталья Сокол ; born June 3, 1980 in Balakowo , Soviet Union ) is a Russian artist and political activist and co-founder of the Russian street art group Woina .

Life

Natalia Sokol has a doctorate in physics. She and her husband, Oleg Worotnikov, founded the Voina artist group together in 2005. With their art actions they protested against the policies of Dmitri Medvedev and Vladimir Putin . In December 2011, Sokol was arrested in St. Petersburg after an action. The police charged her with insult and violence. In April 2015, Sokol announced that he wanted to apply for asylum in Switzerland. Interpol is looking for her husband internationally and is said to be in Russia with her two children.
