Order of Natalia
The Natalie Medal as "award from the Princess Natalie" ( serb. : Order kraljevice Natalije ) known was named in honor of Princess and later Queen Natalie of Serbia in 1878 as Lady North and furnished in the February 22, 1886 Medal of Queen Natalie renamed . The founder was the prince and later King Milan I of Serbia . The order should honor the voluntary care and assistance in caring for the war victims.
After the fall of the Obrenović house in 1903, the order was no longer awarded.
Order classes
The order consisted of two classes
- I. class in gold
- II. Class in silver
Order decoration
The brooch was chosen as an order form for both classes. In the middle of the ellipse the initial of Queen N (Natalie) is inlaid in red enamel . A blue enameled ribbon surrounds the ellipse and ends in a loop. This ribbon bears the inscription in Serbian: "Za pomaganje ranjenih i bolnik vojnika u catovima 1876-77-78" (For aid to wounded and sick warriors during the campaigns of 1876-77-78). At the outer ends there are still two crossing laurel branches that turn around the brooch. The upper part shows the Serbian coat of arms and is surmounted by the royal crown (until 1886: princely hat ).
Ribbon and way of wearing
Depending on the class, a gold or silver fringed ribbon was used.
