Nathalie Krebs
Johanne Nathalie Krebs ( August 5, 1895 in Aarhus - January 5, 1978 in Copenhagen ) was a Danish ceramic artist .
life and work
Nathalie Krebs studied chemistry . After completing her studies, she worked for the porcelain manufacturer Bing & Grøndahl in Copenhagen, which is now part of the Fiskars group, before setting up her own atelier with Gunnar Nyland in 1929 or 1930. From 1931 to 1968 she ran Saxbo, her own studio. Saxbo is considered to be the first atelier in Denmark to work with stoneware . Her experiments, which she undertook in this studio with shapes, firing and glazing techniques, are considered to be groundbreaking.
