Nathalie Muylle

Nathalie Muylle (born February 8, 1969 in Roeselare ) is a Belgian politician of the Christian Democratic Party in Vlaams (CD&V) and has been a member of the Belgian Chamber of Deputies since 2004 .

She has been the Belgian Minister for Employment, Economy and Consumer Protection since October 27, 2019, initially in the executive government of Wilmès I and since March 19 in the crisis government Wilmès II .

Life

Muylle attended the Bisschoppelijk Lyceum of the Grauwe Befers in her hometown and then studied political science at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven . She specialized in international relations and graduated in 1991 with a licentiate . In the same year she got a job with the Belgian supermarket chain GB and worked there until 2001. She then worked for KBC Insurance until 2004 .

In addition, Muylle was politically active in her home community Roeselare, where she was chairwoman of the CD&V local association from 2000 to 2004. She has been a member of the CD&V board since 2004, both at local level and at regional and provincial level. In addition, she has been parliamentary group leader in the Roeselare council since 2006. In the parliamentary elections in 2003, Muylle ran for the Belgian Chamber of Deputies and in 2004 succeeded Yves Leterme , who took up the office of Flemish Prime Minister, in the Chamber of Deputies. She was confirmed in office in the 2007 parliamentary elections.

Muylle is married and has a daughter and a son.
