The National Convention Center Canberra (NCCC) , also known as the Royal Theater Canberra , is a convention center and venue for concerts that was built in 1989 in Canberra , Australia .

The building is the largest convention center in Canberra and extends over two floors. It offers 13 different rooms for concerts, conferences and sporting events as well as auctions . In 2005, the National Convention Center Canberra was using a state subsidy of 30 million US dollars renovated and modernized. The building complex is managed by the InterContinental Hotels Group . On November 10, 1990, the British world star Eric Clapton performed in front of 10,000 visitors as part of his Journeyman World Tour at the Royal Theater.
