National Party (abbreviation NP; German  National Party ) is a historic political party in Zambia .

The NP was founded in August 1993. In the 1993/94 by-election, she won four seats in the National Assembly of Zambia . Its chairman was first Baldwin Nkumbula, then Daniel Lisulo.

The NP was a founding of prominent members of the Movement for Multiparty Democracy , who left it after Nkumbula was defeated in the election for deputy chairman of the MMD Levy Mwanawasa . At first the NP was able to unite many opposition members. However, the death of Baldwin Nkumbula turned out to be the end of the party. The NP was in 1999 in the Zambia Alliance for Progress .
