The National Center Party (also: Zentrist Nationalpartei ; abbreviation NCP from English National Centrist Party ) is a parliamentary political party in Libya , which was founded on October 23, 2011 by the former oil minister Ali Tarhouni . It is a centrist political movement based on the principles of democracy and religious moderation. She was previously a member of the Alliance of National Forces .

The Center Party took part in the 2012 election for the Libyan National Congress. It received 2 of the 80 seats for party lists and is in the minority with other parties.

The National Center Party's own doctrine is moderate. Ali Tarhouni said that moderation is the name of the movement: "We are moderate. We are in the middle." Any radicalization of Islam is something the party rejects: "We are strictly against it. We grew up in this country and we basically do not use things like that, and I hope they stop doing that because Libya does not tacitly tolerates. "
