National Research Center for Archeology
The National Research Center for Archeology , officially Center national de recherche archéologique (CNRA), is a state cultural institute in Luxembourg , subordinate to the Ministry of Culture and attached to the National Museum of History and Art . It was brought into being by Grand Ducal Regulations on July 24, 2011 and is based in Bartringen . Its task is to research, conserve and make accessible remains from bygone eras in Luxembourg (including through archaeological excavations, publications, exhibitions, lectures, guided tours, etc.).
tasks
The CNRA examines land and land ( prospecting and excavation ) in advance of construction projects or for research purposes in order to gather information about the history , the environment , the economy and the culture of societies in earlier times. Various prospecting and excavation methods are used for this purpose.
The CNRA works with other research institutes, libraries, archives and volunteers at home and abroad.
The CNRA staff regularly organize lectures, conferences and, in collaboration with the National Museum of History and Art, exhibitions. A major part of his work is the investigation of archaeological sites and the editing of archaeological publications.
