The National Circus of Ukraine ( Ukrainian Національний цирк України ) is a circus building in the Ukrainian capital Kiev .
The circus, built between 1958 and 1960, is located in Kiev's Stadtrajon Shevchenko on Victory Square No. 2. The circus was opened on November 5, 1960. In 1998, the Kiev State Circus received the status of the National Circus of Ukraine .
The neoclassical circus building is a monumental structure with a portico , central dome and top. The building offers space for 2000 visitors. The building was no longer built in the style of socialist classicism , as excessive decor was dispensed with at the beginning of the thaw period . The surface design has therefore been greatly simplified.
