The natural monument Doline Schwelgenkamp with a size of 0.23 ha is located northwest of Brilon . The area was designated as a natural monument (ND) by the Hochsauerlandkreis in 2008 with the landscape plan of the Brilon plateau . The natural monument is surrounded by the nature reserve Grünlandverbund Aa .

The ND Doline Schwelgenkamp is one of the seven natural monuments in the landscape plan of the Brilon plateau which were defined as karst phenomena. There are four swallow holes and three sinkholes . The field name Schwelgenkamp already indicates the karst appearance, because Schwelge means stream shrinkage.

Schwelgenkamp is located in the middle of agricultural land. The sinkhole itself and the immediate surroundings are used as grassland. It can only be recognized by a slight depression. The protection designation was carried out according to the landscape plan to prevent backfilling.
