Commercial win

In the United States , Future Hearts was sold a total of 80,000 times within the first week of sales. Thus the band was able to record the highest sales figures in its band history after the first week of sales. In the UK , the album sold 19,400 copies in its first week.

In the USA, the album entered the official album charts at number 2, although Future Hearts had sold significantly more records in traditional sales than the previous leader - the official soundtrack for Fast & Furious 7 . However, according to the new chart calculation, 464,000 digitally sold singles for the song See You Again by Wiz Khalifa ensured that the film soundtrack could not be displaced from the top position. In the United Kingdom, the almost 20,000 units sold were enough to land at number one in the British charts for the first time . In the Australian album charts , a top 3 placement was just missed in New Zealand , the album debuted at number seven. For the first time, All Time Low was listed in Germany (60th place), Norway (21st place), Italy (94th place) and Spain (54th place).

The single Something's Gotta Give entered the UK's official singles chart at number 84.

Media reception

Future Hearts received mixed reviews, but overall the résumé in the English-language media was positive. The Australian version of Rolling Stone, for example, rated the album with three out of five possible rating points. The reviewer praises the group's lyrics from this album and is of the opinion that Future Hearts is always catchy. However, the album is overall too thin to enjoy. Alternative Press Evan Lucy rated the album better. He gave four rating points and feels that Future Hearts could have been a much better major album than the Dirty Work released . The issue of Kerrang published on March 28, 2015 stated that Future Hearts is an album for all those who prefer a carefree and childlike version of pop-punk . Based on multiple reviews, Future Hearts received an average rating of 74 criticisms on Metacritic .

In the German-speaking media, however, the album did not do well: Eric Meyer from Plattentests.de wrote that the group is still following their juvenile heartbreak side far too consistently and thus shamelessly using the clichés. However, the reviewer writes that the album also has snappy songs in its repertoire. He cites kicking & screaming as an example . Meyer also says that Something's Gotta Give and Old Scars / Future Hearts are among the better pieces on the album. Jan Hassenpflug from Laut.de sees it similarly . He also gave the album a rather sobering rating. He describes the album over long distances to trite much and too good blades, the two guest musicians rather his attention grab than the actual lead singer himself. The songs Do not You Go and Cinderblock Garden makes it as the best pieces of future hearts of . In conclusion, Hassenpflug states that apart from the potential of the group, nothing worth mentioning remains, he misses the “shitty” mentality of past skatepunk heroes, the recognition value and the courage to escalate at All Time Low.
