history

1994-2001

Originally the network was part of Cablevision and CHUM Ltd. and mostly broadcast the same programs as the Canadian broadcaster MuchMusic . After CHUM Limited sold half of the company to Cablevision , they acquired the trademark rights to MuchMusic through a license agreement .

2001-2003

In the spring of 2001 Cablevision began broadcasting its own program under the name MuchMusic USA . The program consisted primarily of music videos , short advertisements and some of the old Canadian music programs , which were reduced to one hour a day in December 2002.

At the beginning of 2003, CHUM withdrew the license for the name MuchMusic and all rights dependent on it from Cablevision . In March 2003, Cablevision announced the change of name to Fuse, which will apply from April 2003 .

2003-2010

After the name change, Fuse not only broadcast music videos, but also the first talk shows and music-related series. In 2008 they were given the rights to broadcast various music festivals, e.g. B. Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival , Vans Warped Tour and Voodoo Experience . In 2009, Fuse broadcast daily music news under the title The Daily Noise, and broadcast concerts by Fall Out Boy and John Mayer .

In October 2009 Fuse broadcast a Jay-Z concert in Madison Square Graden at the same time as the broadcaster MuchMusic Canda .

Since September 2010, bassist Mark Hoppus from Blink-182 has been part of the program with his own talk show Hoppus On Music .
