Natural monument Krügersdorfer Eichen
The natural monument Krügersdorfer Eichen consists of five pedunculate oaks , which are about 350 meters west of Krügersdorf in the Oder-Spree district ( Brandenburg ) on the B 246 . The Huteeichen are part of an old avenue that leads from Krügersdorf to Beeskow and are likely to be around 550 to 600 years old. The strongest of the oaks, the thick oak, is about 22 meters high and has a trunk circumference of 10.45 meters.
The five oaks have been protected since May 15, 1950. On July 31, 1974, more oaks south of the thick oak were placed under protection, but they are functionally part of the Krügersdorfer Park . The burial oak got its name because the funeral procession stopped at it on the way to the cemetery and took a minute of silence.
