from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The natural monument Schwalgloch Untreue with a size of 1.24 hectares is located east of Brilon . The area was designated as a natural monument (ND) by the Hochsauerlandkreis in 2008 with the landscape plan of the Brilon plateau . The natural monument borders to the north and west of the Offenland nature reserve, south-east of Brilon, and to the east and south of the Untreuetal nature reserve . A little to the north is the Heimberg nature reserve and a little to the south-west is the Romberg nature reserve .

The ND Schwagloch Untreue is one of the seven natural monuments in the landscape plan of the Brilon plateau which were established as karst phenomena. There are four swallow holes and three sinkholes .

In Schwagloch Untreue the stream Untrügge disappears . The Untrügge comes from the Thülener Bruch from the east. The Schwalgloch forms a hollow shape about 8 to 9 m in size. The Schwagloch is surrounded by bushes and grassland. The lower course of the Untrügge and a spring also belong to the ND. The water from the low pressure source disappears in a second swallow hole. The Schwalgloch area is overgrown with bushes and unused. A pedunculate oak with a trunk diameter of about 1.20 m stands on the valley meadow as a single tree that shapes the landscape. The ND is impaired by previous water straightening, selective debris deposits and a riding arena.
