Eschmecke-Hückenstein nature reserve
The Eschmecke-Hückenstein nature reserve is a 28.5 hectare nature reserve (NSG) west of Werdohl in the Märkisches Kreis in North Rhine-Westphalia . In 2004 the district government of Arnsberg designated the area as a NSG by ordinance. It lies on the west side of the Lenne (Ruhr) .
Area description
The NSG is a species-rich hillside mixed forest on the rocky steep slopes exposed towards the Lenne. The forest is Luzulo - beech forests , stream-alder-ash forests, ravine forest and slope mixed forests. There are also near-natural source areas, creek and valley sections in the NSG. In the NSG rocks and cliffs emerge in various places.
