Corrado Guzzanti (born May 17, 1965 in Rome ) is an Italian actor , comedian , satirist , director and screenwriter . He is known and popular in Italy above all for a variety of extremely different roles in which he appears in TV talk and satire shows.

Life

Corrado Guzzanti was born in Rome as the son of the journalist and senator Paolo Guzzanti . He studied philosophy at the Sapienza in Rome, but left the university without a degree.

He began his television career as a text writer for his sister Sabina Guzzanti. He got his first role as an actor in 1991 in the satirical show Rai 3 Avanzi on Italian television, which was moderated by Serena Dandini and was awarded the Telegatto as "Program of the Year". He worked with Serena Dandini in many of his following TV shows, such as Tunnel , Maddecheaò , Pippo Chennedy Show and L'ottavo nano . In 2002 he was involved as a writer, actor and co-producer on the TV show Il Caso Scafroglia . The show was extremely successful, made it known nationwide and developed into a web phenomenon: "On the Internet, the pages, the quotes, people, sections, sequences with roles played by Guzzanti have multiplied," writes the film critic Repubblica .

The people he has parodied in shows include the journalist and supporter Silvio Berlusconi's Emilio Fede, the songwriter Antonello Venditti , Francesco Rutelli , Prime Minister and Minister of Culture of Italy in the Prodi cabinet and Romano Prodi himself, Fausto Bertinotti , the founder of the Partito della Rifondazione Comunista , the journalist and cabaret artist Gianfranco Funari, Gianni Baget Bozzo , politician, priest, professor of exegesis and Catholic theology who was dismissed by Rome for violating the norms of his Church, Giulio Tremonti , minister in the Berlusconi cabinet several times and always again Silvio Berlusconi himself. He also created a number of fictional characters, under whose names he also appears on television.

In 2006 he made his first feature film for the cinema, Fascisti su Marte , which emerged from the show Il Caso Scafroglia .
