Gianni Baget Bozzo

Gianni Baget Bozzo (born March 8, 1925 in Savona , Liguria , † May 8, 2009 in Genoa ) was an Italian clergyman , theologian , politician and publicist .

Gianni Baget Bozzo was a resistance fighter in World War II , later a priest in the Roman Catholic Church .

From 1984 to 1994 he was a member of the Socialist Party of Italy ( Partito Socialista Italiano ) in the European Parliament . During this time he was suspended from the priesthood because of his political and journalistic activities.

He was a key campaign strategist for Forza Italia , Silvio Berlusconi's party . He was engaged as a publicist and taught theology at the universities of Milan and Genoa .
