Navia Dratp

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Navia Dratp ( Japanese ナ ヴ ィ ア ド ラ ッ プ , Navia Dorappu , pronounced nah-vii-ah drap ) is a strategic board game with collectable figures that is similar to chess or shogi and was produced by Bandai .

The game

Navia Dratp is a game with perfect information . Every player knows everything about the status of the game at all times and can choose his strategy based on this.

regulate

Navia Dratp is played on a field of 7 by 7 fields, on which various special fields are printed. These special fields indicate where new figures can be brought into the game or where it is particularly cheap to upgrade figures. There is also the starting position of the so-called Navia (a kind of king).

The game is played with different pieces, some of which are fixed and some of which can be selected from a pool of figures.

Each player begins the game with seven black gulled pieces and 2 red gulled pieces, which are a kind of pawn and whose movement creates so-called gyullas , which can be spent for moving pieces , or to use various special skills of the pieces. If you manage to move them beyond the last line of the field, you can use them to bring lost pieces back into the game or to get another bonus at Gyullas . Furthermore, every player has a Navia . The Navias themselves only differ in their appearance, but always have the same playing characteristics.

These fixed figures are joined by seven other figures, the so-called Maseitai . These are not fixed, but can be freely chosen from your own collection of figures before each game. However, no Maseitai may appear more than twice on each side.

Each Maseitai has different skills such as B. different ways to move, or special forces such. B. to take characters out of the game, or to teleport to another place on the field, etc., which can partially be improved by moving the character.

The Maseitai themselves consist of an approximately 8 cm large plastic miniature and a “compass” in front of it , which shows how the figure can move and how much Gyullas it costs to transport. A promotion is indicated by turning this “compass” 180 degrees, thereby showing the character's new abilities. This flipping is known as draping .

The players always take turns and have different options to choose from.

You can either:

- Move a pawn - Draw a pawn
and then promote it
- Promote
a pawn - Bring a Maseitai into play on a summoning space

By moving your own pieces onto the opponent's pieces, you capture them and they are placed in the so-called cemetery from the game. This also gives you a reward in the form of gyullas .

The game can be won in several ways:

- A player beats the opposing Navia
- A player creates a Navia Dratp , ie he manages to promote the Navia himself
- A player creates a Navia gate , ie his own Navia moves over the last line of the opponent if she has already brought all of their maseitai into the game.
- A player gives up
- A navia is chess three times in a row in the same way and is never beaten. Then the player whose Navia check was placed wins .
