Nayel Nassar

Nayel Nassar (* 1991 in Chicago ) is a professional American rider.

Career

Nassar started riding at the age of five and show jumping at the age of ten. At the age of 22 he took part in an official tournament for the first time. Nasser qualified for the FEI World Cup Finals in 2013, 2014 and 2017 as well as for the FEI World Equestrian Championship in 2014. Most recently, he took part in the finals of the FEI World Cup in Longines in Paris . He is a regular participant in international Grand Prix races.

Sporting successes

Nassar won the $ 400,000 Longines Grand Prix of New York . He is the first rider to win both the Longines Speed ​​Challenge and the Longines Grand Prix at the same event with the same horse.

In 2012 he won the Artisan Farms Young Rider Grand Prix Series at the Winter Equestrian Festival. He was nominated as reserve rider for Egypt at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.

Private

Nassar was born in Chicago and raised in Kuwait before returning to California in 2009 . He is a graduate of Stanford University , where he earned his bachelor's degree in economics in 2013. On January 29, 2020, Nassar and Jennifer Gates, daughter of Bill Gates , announced their engagement.
