Nayla Tueni

Nayla Tueni (born August 31, 1982 in Beirut ) is a Lebanese journalist and politician . She has been a member of the Lebanese parliament since summer 2009 .

Life

Nayla Tueni was born into one of the great Greek Orthodox family clans in Lebanon. She studied journalism and in 2007, two years after the murder of her father Gebran Tueni , became deputy general manager of the Lebanese daily newspaper An-Nahar , which her grandfather founded in 1933.

Since summer 2009 she has been one of 64 Christian members of the Lebanese parliament. She is one of four women who are MPs.
