Nchanga is a mining town founded in 1955 in the Copperbelt province 30 kilometers southeast of Chingola in Zambia . It is 1,400 meters above sea level.

The Nchanga mine is owned by Konkola Copper Mines , which produces 60 percent of Zambian copper . Copper is extracted in opencast and underground mining. The nine open pits are in a semicircle around Chingola, so that the two areas and cities can hardly be separated from each other. Since Nchanga is not shown separately, its population should be combined with that of Chingola. There are two copper smelters in the city, one for ores from open-cast mining, one for ores extracted underground, which also extracts cobalt .

Nchanga has elementary and secondary schools and hospitals.

The Nchanga Rangers , despite its name, a football club in Chingola. Their stadium has 15,000 seats and is in Chingola.
