The NeXTstation was a computer from the manufacturer NeXT , which was presented in 1990 and succeeded the NeXTcube .

The NeXTstation had a Motorola 68040 processor with 25 MHz in the normal or 33 MHz in the turbo version. The two device variants had black and white graphics as standard, but there was also the option of getting the devices with color graphics (as a color model), so there were a total of four model variants. Furthermore possessed all models over 8 MB of memory , which could be expanded to up to 32 MB (or 128 MB in the Turbo variant), a SCSI - hard disk with a capacity of 105 MB and a floppy disk drive and an Ethernet port (10BASE T and 10BASE2).

When it appeared, the normal monochrome version of the NeXTstation with a 17-inch monitor cost around 10,000  DM (based on current purchasing power around 8,500 US dollars ) or 4,995 euros .

The NeXTstation was delivered with NeXTStep 2.0; however, later versions such as 3.0 or 3.3 also ran on it without any problems. The NeXTStep successor OPENSTEP also ran on the NeXTstation up to version 4.2. As an alternative, NetBSD can also be installed on the NeXTstation .
