Nekhonja ben ha-Qana
Nechonja ben ha-Qana (also: Nechunja ha-Qane , Nechunja ben Hakana ; meaning of the name unclear) was Tannaite of the first generation in the first century AD, contemporary of Jochanan ben Sakkais .
He was Ishmael's teacher and important in the Hekhalot literature ; in the Kabbalah he is regarded as the author of the sefer ha-bahir and is actually the author of the Kabbalistic work sefer hapelia .
He was probably getting very old and wealthy. The Talmud emphasizes its peacefulness and its generosity. His method and teaching results were respected. His prayers when entering and leaving the Lehrhaus (included in various Mishnah editions) became important for the following generations .
