Dutch Foundation for Literature

The Dutch Foundation for Literature (Dutch name "Nederlands Letterenfonds"), based in Amsterdam, supports authors and translators and promotes Dutch literature abroad.

The foundation was created on January 1, 2010 through the merger of the foundations Fonds voor de Letteren (“Literature Foundation ”) and Nederlands Literair Productie- en Vertalingenfonds (“Dutch Foundation for the Production and Translation of Literature”). In 2010 the foundation received 10 million euros in government grants from the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science.

The director of the foundation is Henk Pröpper .
