Neelix (2016)

Neelix (bourgeois Henrik Twardzik , born September 11, 1975 in Hamburg ) is a German music producer , live act and DJ.

Life

With the beginning of his music production, Twarzik's friend Alex Dorkian (Nok) discovered his music and acted as an intermediary between him and the record label. This set him a deadline for finding an artist name. Then Twardzik tried for hours to find a suitable name. He decided on Neelix based on the character of the same name from Star Trek , as this was just appearing in the credits.

In 1996 Neelix began to put on records and in the spring of 2000 produced their first own tracks. In 2003 he released his first album Resident . Neelix appeared at numerous festivals in Germany , in other European countries as well as in Israel, Brazil, Mexico and Australia.

His style is characterized by a driving bass , spherical surfaces and regular use of film and vocals as well as the frequent use of calm, melodic passages as a tension element. His sets often tend towards progressive house , but are usually clearly recognizable as psytrance . During his live performances, Twardzik works with his notebook , MIDI controller and keyboards with previously mixed samples or his own productions, which he arranges and changes live.
