Nehru Cup

The Nehru Cup or Copa Nehru was a football competition in India .

The cup was played between the various participating national teams in tournament mode. In some cases, the B national teams, the Olympic teams, junior national teams and the amateur national representatives also took part. In 1983 and 1984, Haladás Szombathely and Vasas Budapest also represented club teams, with the former taking the name of the Hungarian Olympic team. Between 1982 and 2012 there were a total of 15 staging of this competition. It took place annually until 1989, after which it was changed to a two-year cycle. After the 1997 tournament there was a ten-year break. Since then there have been three more events in 2007, 2009 and 2012.
