Szombathelyi Haladás ( German  progress from Szombathely ), formerly Haladás VSE (VSE = Vasutas Sport Egyesület , German  railway sports club), is a Hungarian football club from Szombathely ( German Steinamanger ).

history

The association was founded in 1919. The club colors are green and white. The team, often called "Hali" by the fans, plays its home games in the Haladás sports complex , which opened in 2017 and has a capacity of 8,903 spectators. Previously, the club was based in the Rohonci úti stadium in the same place.

Haladás reached the Hungarian Cup final three times in 1975, 1993 and 2002 . Since the first promotion to Nemzeti Bajnokság I, the first Hungarian football league, in 1936 Haladás has been able to participate in more than 50 seasons there. The club last rose there in 2008 and has been in the top division ever since.

After the end of the second division season 2006/07 Haladás 8 points were deducted because of the use of ineligible players, whereby the club the first place in the table and thus the promotion were denied. BFC Siófok rose in his place. 2008/09 they reached the 3rd place in the table of Nemzeti Bajnokság I, which meant the best performance in the championship so far. The following year they took part in qualifying for the UEFA Europa League .
