The Neiva P-56 Paulistinha is a trainer aircraft produced by the Brazilian manufacturer Indústria Aeronáutica Neiva .

History and construction

The P-56 Paulistinha is a further development of the CAP-4 Paulistinha built by Companhia Aeronáutica Paulista , for which Neiva had acquired the rights and was used as a military and is still used as a civilian training aircraft. The machine is a braced and braced shoulder-wing aircraft, with a fuselage made of steel tubes which, like the wings, is covered with fabric. The aircraft has a closed two-seat tandem cockpit and a non-retractable tail wheel landing gear. Different engines were used as drive, mainly the Continental C90 -8F or C90-14F with 66 kW but also the Lycoming O-235B with 74 kW or the Lycoming O-320 with 110 kW. The machines, which the Lycoming O-320 are equipped to carry the designation P-56 C .

The construction also served as the basis for an agricultural aircraft , the P-56 Agricola , into which a fiberglass chemical container and spray nozzles were built. Fewer than 60 copies of this model were built, as it was unable to prevail against foreign competition with their designs specially developed for these tasks.
