Nematus myosotidis is a plant wasp from the family of sawfly (Tenthredinidae).

features

The legs and abdomen of the plant wasp are yellow-orange, the head and pronotum are black. On the outer edge of the wing there is a yellow-orange stigma, characteristic of the genus Nematus .

distribution

The species is distributed in the western Palearctic . It is widespread in Europe and is also found in the British Isles.

Way of life

The plant wasps are particularly common in the months of May to July. Their forage and host plants include representatives from the genera of the vetch ( Vicia ), the flat peas ( Lathyrus ) and the clover ( Trifolium ).
