Reproduction of the Zeno card from a book from 1793

Neome was the name of a phantom island in the north Atlantic . By Nicolo Zeno, a descendant of the Venetian navigators Nicolò and Antonio Zeno , it was located about halfway between Scotland and Iceland in 1558 . The so-called Zeno card (dated to the year 1380) is now commonly regarded as a forgery. Neome is shown here alongside other, much better known phantom islands such as Frisland , Estotiland and Icaria .
