Nerezine

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Nerezine (ital. Neresine ) is a place in the northern part of the island Lošinj in Croatia .

As on other Croatian islands, the population was around 2000 before the Croatian war , but today - although the island was not directly affected by the war - has shrunk to around 400. Many former residents now live in the United States and Italy. Only in the summer months do some come back to Nerezine, as do many holidaymakers. The place is arranged around a small harbor, which offers space for about 40 yachts and provides several restaurants and bars for the physical well-being. There is also a shipyard in Nerezine where ships up to 15 meters in length are serviced and repaired.
