NET 5 is a Dutch commercial broadcaster . It is part of the SBS Broadcasting Group and is aimed primarily at a young, female audience.
On March 1, 1999, NET 5 started as a sister station of SBS 6 ; it was to become a commercial version of Dutch public television. NET 5 shows both international series and domestic in-house productions.
The television station belonged to the ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG station group until July 28, 2011 . From July 29, 2011 to July 19, 2017, it was in the hands of Sanoma Media (67%) and Talpa Media (33%). Since July 19, 2017, NET 5 has been completely in the hands of Talpa Media via SBS Broadcasting.
