netidee project and scholarships

Natural persons of legal age and legal entities with an Austrian residential address or an Austrian company address are eligible to apply. The IPA has set up a funding advisory board that evaluates the submitted projects and, if necessary, suggests funding. The decision on the award of funding is made by the IPA board in agreement with the IPA board of trustees. In terms of positive social development, the funding program is intended to provide effective impetus for innovative and self-organized further development of the Internet and its versatile use in Austria on the basis of openness, transparency and sharing. For example, projects that focus on the proof of concept of new technologies or concepts, grassroot civil society projects and exciting product or service innovations are funded. The projects aim to improve, broaden and expand the Internet in terms of quality and quantity in the area of basic technologies, infrastructure or applications. The focus of the decision on funding is the potential of the submitted project to make a special contribution and the concrete results to be expected. Each project is also assessed according to the extent to which it is suitable as a starting point and building block for further projects and to what extent a sustainable networking of the most varied of users and developers is achieved. The results of the funded projects must be made available to the general public free of charge for use and further development. A brief description of all projects and grants funded since the start of the netidee funding program is also available on netidee.at.
