The Netter Dömchen is a listed secular building in the village of Nette in Altena , a town in the Märkisches Kreis ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).

History and architecture

The bell house, popularly known as the Netter Dömchen , is a two-storey quarry stone building with a curved hood and a roof turret with a time display. The building was erected in the second half of the 18th century. The bell is marked 1734, it was cast by Nicolaas Müller. The clock tower was also used as a training room in earlier times. The remote location of the place made another bell necessary next to the central clock of the Luther Church . In this way the bell house is unique in Westphalia.
